Question & Answer (Q&A)

Q) Hi, my son is 5 yrs old. he cries if somebody (child) comes to r place & he has to share his toys.
he is very good in studies ,but now a days he speaks a lot.

Answer:
I presume that your son is the only child. Hence, he doesn’t need to share his toys with any other kid.
The habit of sharing toys at home hasn’t developed in him.
He feels insecure, which is the reason he cries if a visitor kid plays with his toys.
That’s absolutely normal, humans are possessive in nature.

How to improve his behavior:
Behavioral change might not be possible overnight.
Try playing a game with him. You be the visitor child. Explain to him that the visitor will play for some time and will not take his toys home, like you did during the game.

I have experienced that this is the best way to convince a child, be it an adamant one.

About talking, it’s a good sign. Be happy about it. Learn more about his likes and dislikes, accordingly mold him.

Shock Wave – Across the Country.

  •  Talwar’s advocate’s mother murdered
  •   Delhi girl  student shot dead
  •    Mother throws kids from 19th floor, kills self in Mumbai
  • Chennai mother sells one year old for Rs. 50000
What’s wrong woman. We might be the target (in 1st two cases) but, we aren’t that weak.

Don’t ever let depression grip you badly. Life is beautiful if only, you can get through the short dark phase of it. No problem is big enough to cost you your life. Everyone has problems.

When the going gets tough, slow down. Speak about it – to your friends, family. Pen it down, try writing e-mails to self. And, in case even that doesn’t help. Write to me at: motherchild.ind@gmail.com. Stay anonymous. But, never give up.

Need a Break

“I am tired". How often do you feel so? Too often, occasionally or seldom? Surely you are tired of the routine. Why not, being mother is a 24x7 job. And no mom is a superwoman. Her only strength is her unconditional love for her baby which gets her going.

If you are tired, say it. It’s no crime, don’t feel guilty about it. Accepting this fact won’t lessen your love for your child. All you need to do is PAUSE. Take some time off for yourself. Rejuvenate your strength, take a relaxing foot massage, watch your favorite movie, sleep, chat with friends, listen to music, the list is endless. Make a pick.

Allot a time slot for say 2 or 3 hours in a week for a break wherein, one of the family members can take care of your baby in your absence. All you need to do is be yourself during your break time. Do justice to the time-away from your little one.

This exercise will not only help you break the monotony in your life, but it will also build bond between the child and the care-taker. Your baby will learn to communicate better, will learn to adjust to the change, accept the change, which in turn will help develop confidence in your baby.

So, for your and your baby’s betterment, take a break because, you Need A Break.

Making an Identity

On a winter morning I was moving towards the suburban of Mumbai. Travelling in a Mumbai local, on a working day, during wee hours is much of an impossible task for a novice. But, I was fortunate to be heading in opposite direction of the rush.

Suburban, away from city greeted me; mountains, river, small house, barren land. Life is simple, I thought. It was then I overheard a conversation of two women. One of the woman’s daughter was 3 yrs old. Who managed routine on her own with help of her grandfather, while her mother went to work. But, this morning she was worried. Her daughter’s school teacher had scolded her because of which she didn’t want to go to school. The other woman’s son was 7 months, taken care by her in-laws. Work-Home- Child care and development, though almost impossible, a mother can manage.

At the same time a cutie pie came and seated in front of me with his mother. She was well dressed, had used light make-up as well. He was 1 ½ year old. His mom was busy grabbing her baggage for majority of the time. Once settled she got lost in her thoughts, while I played with her son. Next to her came a lady with her daughter who must be around 3 yrs old. She and her daughter depicted rural India. Her daughter was made comfortable on her lap throughout the journey, even though there were enough vacant seats. Both of them had regular conversation and they laughed at intervals. Both mothers next to each other were a perfect contrast with regards to their appearance and behavior with their child.

My journey with these four mothers compelled me to think. Is a woman capable of all the responsibilities? In this demanding world managing work, home and child, is it possible?  Does she do justice to her child?

I firmly believe, whichever the choice be (working mother or homemaker) making a decision is difficult. There is a woman in her showing bright future in corporate world, at the time there is a mother in her afraid of weakening the bond with her child. There is ambition on one hand and love on other. I wish every woman finds a fine balance. Every mother nurtures a pure soul. Be it home or home and work, she and her child shares a strong loving bond. And she never loses her real identity.
Cheers to Motherhood!!!

Childhood!

My home is filled with toys & has finger prints on everything...
It's never quiet...
My hair is usually a mess, make-up is rare & I'm usually tired!
BUT there is Love & Laughter here!
In 20 years my baby won't remember the house or hair, but he WILL remember the time we
spent together & the love he felt.
Our babies.......only get one childhood so make it a good one!

Expressing Love

  • Your newborn stares into your eyes. He's actually working hard to memorize your face. He doesn't understand anything else about the world, but he knows you're important.

  • Your baby thinks about you even when you're not around. Between 8 and 12 months old, he'll start to scrunch his face and look around when you leave the room — and he'll smile when you return.

  • Your toddler throws wicked tantrums. Nope, those screaming fits don't mean he's stopped loving you. He wouldn't be so hurt and angry if he didn't trust you so deeply.

  •   Your toddler runs to you for comfort when he falls down or feels sad.  Kids this age may not truly understand the meaning of "I love you," but their actions speak louder than words.

  •  Your preschooler wants your approval. He'll start to be more cooperative around the house, and he'll look for chances to impress. "Look at me!" will become a catchphrase.
